Complete the sentence and be part of the art on June 6th, 2020.
On June 6th, 2020, artists Peter Dean and Michael Ogden are inviting friends, family and the wider world to complete this simple sentence:
“One day we will…”
The aim is to imagine a better future – to capture a snapshot of what people are hoping the future might look like in the months and years (or even further) ahead. What are each of us looking forward to? It can be small pleasures, or giant, systemic change.
It’s easy to be part of the art:
1. With your phone, just record a few seconds of video with you completing this sentence: “One day we will…” (or “One day I will…” if you prefer)
2. Email your clip to us at team@2269.co and that’s it!
All ages are welcome. It can be fun. It can be serious. It can be world-changing. You can do it alone or with others and in any language. It’s up to you. Just keep it short please – one sentence is all we need.

Our plan is to create a short film from the contributions, to capture and share the things we’re all looking forward to. We want it to be hopeful and thoughtful and to imagine a better future. So although we’re not looking for statements around partisan politics, religion or dystopian futures, if you feel strongly about an issue or injustice, complete the sentence to reflect how you'd like things to be different.
Further thoughts and ideas:
The ‘we’ in the sentence can be as large or small as you like: humanity, your neighbourhood, or just you and your dog. And if you’d like to make it more personal, just say ‘One day I will…”

This isn’t necessarily about Covid-19, so feel free to think outside of that, if you’d like to.
We’d prefer horizontal videos in high resolution and with clear sound. A video from your phone is probably perfect! If you record it in a language other than English, please write the English version in your email.
